OverlayHub Update — 0.1.2-beta.1
This update brings authentication and connection improvements, plus fixes for the moderation page and release packaging.
Changes since 0.1.0-beta.1:
- Twitch authorization recovery: Revoked or invalid saved credentials now trigger fresh browser authorization.
- Twitch configuration migration: Older configurations now use hosted authentication, preventing legacy developer credentials from overriding the consumer connection flow.
- Twitch callback fixes: Corrected redirect handling and replaced the premature “authentication successful” browser message with instructions to check the connection in OverlayHub.
- YouTube token renewal: Added shared token renewal during operation and a refresh-and-retry when an API request returns an authorization error.
- YouTube reconnect improvements: Added increasing retry delays after chat failures and throttling, plus a cooldown when YouTube reports exhausted API quota.
- YouTube connection cleanup: Chat readers and background tasks are cleaned up on disconnect.
- Clearer YouTube error logs: API errors now include Google’s reported reason, helping distinguish authentication, permission, and quota issues.
- Moderation page fixes: Corrected script paths for community and viewer-profile features.
- Release packaging: Added a repeatable, versioned packaging script that includes the application, platform plugins, moderation page, and OBS overlay.
YouTube credentials remain encrypted locally for the Windows account that connected them.
Testing status: Twitch reauthorization has been tested successfully. YouTube startup and quota handling have been confirmed; extended livestream testing of token renewal is still pending.
To update, close OverlayHub, extract the entire new ZIP into a new folder, and launch it from there. Your saved settings and chatter database remain in LocalAppData. Update your OBS file paths if the folder location changes.
